WOO HOO, I have been promoted to "I'm a Regular"
Wait, is that a good thing? LOL

I just read a news snippet this morning about some feller from Texas that is selling a chunk of snow on E-Bay. He rolled up a big snowball from a few inches that fell some where in Texas. He says it's got historical significance!!! laugh laugh snort snort!!!
He ACTUALLY has bids on it, unbelievable, cause I can't GIVE away this stuff in MIchigan!
We had so much and then it melted last week from beautiful sunshine and yesterday, it was replaced, 8 inches in about 8 hours, UGH, I need to go shovel. :(

First off, I'm alive but probably won't be on much for a while- custody case etc long horrible story!

Anyhow, I was amazed to read all of the snow reports from all of you. We got the worst snow storm in Reno/Sparks in nearly 15 years at the same time everyone else was getting pummeled. We got two feet of snow and broke all sorts of records at the same time. Of course, I scared myself thinking about the links to this freaky weather and the Tsunami. Plus, I had seen "The Day After Tomorrow" not too long ago. Watch it in the summer if you haven't seen it.

Plus, we had this Monday and Tuesday off as snow days and two hour late starts all week including tomorrow. Luckily, we don't have to sit in front of a TV or radio like I did when I was a kid, praying for a snow day report. It's on the website- Ahh technology!

Our first day back from Christmas break was SUPPOSED to be Monday the 3rd. Guess what freezing rain and no school. My husband and I both had the day off(New Year holiday from work). We had all these plans of stuff to do around the house and even just taking some time to snuggle up and take a nap in the afternoon. Oh, well. We went back to school Tuesday and then yesterday more freezing rain and snow so they were home again. Last night we got 3 inches of snow so I expected a late start but NOOOOOO-cancellation instead!!! At least my husband took the afternoon off so I could come to work for awhile. Meanwhile, I'm trying to collect RSVPs for our family night and get volunteers signed up, but we're never in school to get any of that done!

Is it just me or are administrators getting wimpier about the weather!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We live in Washington State and most of the schools are closed today because of ice. It is actually raining now so I don't know what to expect tomorrow. They are saying snow for the next couple of days. As long as I don't have to go out in it I am fine.

My kids are in heaven! One more day off of school!

I had to have someone else take my kids this morning because my doors were frozen shut! I hate to drive in this stuff and thought about calling them in anyways. I have to go over a bridge to take my kids, and I don't do ice well. I'm having my husband pick them up. The weird thing is that it's supposed to get in the 50's this weekend.

So it took me about 25 minutes to get all the snow and ice off of my station wagon. I had to dump buckets of hot water on the stuff. The roads weren't too bad but it looked like nothing had been done to them. It just seems so funny for me to spend all that time cleaning off the car when I could have walked to the school and back in less time, but my kids aren't used to the walk and I don't like all the stray dogs wondering about, so I drive them. Hope everyone stays safe no matter how good or bad your weather.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
