" ... like worn rug hap-hazzardly tossed over the chiped paint of the front porch railing she sighs and thinks to herself '... one more week before school starts ... one more week' ."
Our school has the on-line viewing of lunch funds along with medical records, lunch menu & nutrition info, emergancy contact info etc ... really a nice convienience. Can't tell you how many times my kids have forgotten to tell me the account was out before this option.
Any good books out there? I finished my summer stash and haven't had time to read book reviews lately.

Hey volunteer, enjoy those few moments of silence.
You know at the end of last year our school district started an online system to pay for meals. I love it! No more checks to write, no more worrying about whether they get to school and on the right account, and no more of my son forgetting to bring home his low balance slips. I can just go to the accounts and see how much is there.
Congrats Silver, what a nice surprise! My treat to myself today is going to be to order some new pants from Land's End because I got a free shipping offer! I'm short and they hem for free.
Middle school Open House tonight, and football weigh-in at the Y, and I have to deliver big boxes of spirit wear to the school before the open house. Somewhere in there we might have supper. Big gripe I have with the Y-they don't seem to ever look at the school calendar and see if there are conflicts.
So the mail carrier pulls up to the house and hands me a rather large box. Puzzled I glanced at the return address and its from a wine company. I am thinking ... okay - nice but its way to light to have a bottle of wine in it ~ must be some junk. Open it up and I actually won a contest ... of course it wasn't 1st prize - wine for a year ... but I won the movie night package. No strings attached .. no purchase or 'join the wine club' etc. What a way to changes ones perspective on a day ... singing in the rain ... were singing in the rain ...
