LUV, can I come over and taste test???? I don't usually eat sweets, but for some reason this week around 3 p.m. when I need another cup of coffee to get through the work day, I've been want sweet treats to go with it.
Okay, we've suffered through a drought and extreme temps this whole summer and the day of Open House it decides to be cool and RAINY. We have a picnic planned!!! We can move the eating inside, but the cooking has to be done outside and the people have to go outside to get the food. Can I please get a break?!
To heck with a margarita, just hand me the bottle of tequila, a salt shaker and some lime slices. Then I'm off to the kitchen to make brownies and chocolate cake and chocolate pie and chocolate chunk cookies......
Melissa, I have never been to our state fair. To be honest, I haven't been to the county fair in years. I really do miss it. I do usually take the kids to a private school's major fundraiser which has a fair, but there's nothing like a true fair.
Watch out FREEDOM here I come, of course $$ provided!
Thanks, cw, but I'm not too worried just yet about Kartina. After last year, it should be a piece of cake. Not saying that I'm not comfortable, just that I'm not running around in circles. I do need to restock supplies, get some things in place, but since so far it just seems to be a tropical storm, I'm OK. But, then again you never know. I'm keeping a close watch on the weather and since it's just me and the kids now, I know what has to be done and am in the preparing stages.
DH & I took the kiddos to the KY state fair tonight, and I am wiped out! You know you are getting old when you ride a roller coaster with your 9 y/o and all you can think about is how much work your chiropractor is going to have to do the next day.
Only 6 more days til school starts!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sweating Open House this week though. Too much to do and so little time. Then football started-three practices a week! Hopefully that will slow down after the first game or it's going to get just plain crazy at our house. Sometimes I think that coaches forget that there are siblings with activities, parents with jobs and other involvements, and SCHOOL! Thank goodness I have a husband who jumps in there and helps.
