I was born in '68. I remember the Bay City Rollers and bell bottoms. My aunt was an Elvis fan. I remember her being upset when he died. I loved the 80's.(still do)and yes, I owned a pair of parachute pants. Here's something I received in my in-box:
Just something to make you laugh...seeing that we are all getting old!

Just to make you feel old....

You know you grew up in the 80's if......

I remember when my 14 yr. old was about 5 and asked what kind of cds are those. (meaning my records) When you're going through your photos of growing up and your kids laugh at how you dressed.

I had to explain to my son why we "dial" a phone when there's no dial, roll down a window when there's nothing to roll, and why a CD is called a Record. On that last one, he actually asked me if it was hard to listen to them in the car?!?!?!?!?

I'll get my revenge when he tries to explain PCs and Ipods to his kids!

I remember seeing Reagan being shot and not understanding what the big deal was and why they would put cartoons back on.
Teh best memory was when I was 7 and they announced on CBS that Elvis died. We were at a friend's home and Mom was quilting with 10 other women. I went into the room and asked who was Elvis PResley because some guy said he died. The room was so quiet then they all just began to cry. I thought I did something wrong!

The worst was Columbine. The shootings began at lunch time and here in Denver it was like the coverage of 9/11. I finally turned off the TV and went to the school but there I couldn't get in because of the lock down as the "other school on the list" was down the hill from our school. Never again would I ever want to move back to Des Moines.

Anyway, BBQ for 100+ tomorrow, should get back to work. ugh....

My dad made me watch the Nixon impeachment trials.... "It's history in the making!"

The most interesting version of the moon landing I ever saw was in A Walk on the Moon. Mmmmmm Viggo Mortensen.
