GaMom, that's FANTASTIC news! It's exciting to hear about your day and hear your enthusiasm. Way to go!!!

Hey all! I survived my first day in pre-k. they were all pretty good, except for one who kept tickling my butt while at recess. he would run up and say tickle tickle while doing it. The teacher just laughed. After he did it 3 times, I made sure i kept out of his target zone.

Crew--you can do an online class! i love them. I wish i could get more of mine online! Even with my limited computer skills, i had no problems. I only had to go to three classes. the very first night, the midterm, and then the final. But that is because my college is nearby, so they may not all be that way. i loved it. Check into them. you can play around and see what you like. or just go on and bite the bullit and do the school thing!!!

The school i was in today had a parent room with a huge toddler center! I was so jealous! they had tables and vending machines and a fridge and toys and swings for the babies!!! This is the PARENT room! not the teachers lounge, that was even nicer! Holy cow! At best, we have the teachers lounge or if we are lucky, the library--if it isn't booked. And they have PACT Wednesdays--parent and child together. parents come in for an hour or so and work with the kids together and see what is going on. EVERY SINGLE WEDNESDAY!!!! With a good turnout! They do this in Pre-k, K and 1st. I am sooooo jealous!!!!

Fruit flies - I hate them! Good move to get rid of open food. Keep dishes rinsed or in the dishwasher. Eventually they die off.

Promise not to laugh - I track them down with one of those candle lighters and flame their little wings off. Then they fall on the counter and you can wipe them up with a paper towel. My son thinks it's the funniest thing he's ever seen. He calls me the fruit fly ninja.

I thought I was the only one! I keep misc. candy bars in the freezer! By the way, my mom & I are the only actual people I have ever met who like Almond Joy!

I have to preface this next part w/2 things. 1. Its just a little grodie 2. I am normally a very good housekeeper.
OK-last week, I noticed I had all of these fruit flies in the kitchen. Total mystery-everything else seemed to be normal. Turns out, an apple "fell" behind the dishwasher. (Don't ask-I have my doubts that it actually fell. More likely-someone "hid" it.) Anyway, the apple is gone, but I still have a few straggling fruit flies. I've been extra careful about leaving stuff out. Okay, so a little anal- the only thing allowed to be left out is water.

My question is, does anyone know how to get rid of these suckers!?

My mom used to put the boxes of hostess cakes in the freezer. She'd buy in bulk to save money then toss the frozen ones in our lunch boxes. By lunch time they were thawed enough to eat. This plan backfired when we all realized how amazingly delicious frozen twinkies are!

Hey, have any of you ever taken on-line classes? I'm seriously thinking of working towards a degree but I know that my lifestyle doesn't allow for the whole classroom thing.
