The cupcakes and donuts was a little tongue in cheek (pun!! - ha ha ha).
It would work at our school, to sweeten people up, becuase the new foods policy only affects foods the kids eat , and not the adults at their meetings! Anyway, then serve em organic sprout cookies and green tea!

You guys have given us great advice on every level... and it is truly appreciated. I guess we will have to take it from here. But sitting down with coffee and cupcakes are out...the new president is pushing a new health and wellness program. If its not organic its not allowed!!!LoL

I guess you just take it personally I have only one child. I have been at this school 4 years. Out of the 4 years I have been head room parent three of those 4 years. But because I am going to school to be a nurse I had to pull back on volunteering I go in during the day as much as I can. I am co chair of Santa's Workshop last year I studied for a final as I checked kids out. Then I left the school to take my final. I am MAD We should have a say I have worked hard at this school for them to come in and take it away.. I just want a VOTE Not a dictatorship

mykidsmom - you are always such a calm and reasonable presence on these boards. I've learned so much from your posts.

CapeDad - you're more like the Caped Crusader. You swoop in like Batman, cooly and calmly assess the situation and offer clear solutions, then just as stealthily swoop back out. You're cool......

Forgive me for taking the religion tangent too far. Several member of my family have gone 'zealot' on me and have decided I'm the devil (because I don't go to church) so I'm a bit over sensitive to the topic.

samsmom65 and qtlilli - You are getting some very good advice here. Your situation is very difficult. Right now, you're surronded by craziness. If you can stay calm, cool and focused like mykidsmom and CapeDad, you will prevail. Even if the PTO issues aren't resolved the way you'd prefer, you are still setting a fine example for your children and the community.

samsmom, Lots of folks have given you good advice about talkking with the leadership team etc and making things workable...but it boils down to human psychology, and sadly, if theyre on a personal agenda power trip, let em have it,it must fill a need they have. Sit back and focus on your next school maybe. You cannot talk reason with some people, not the least of which are people in 'office' and having the full support of the pirncipal. You are in for only grief I think. The cards are stacked way out of your favor, unless you get full support from many many parents.

In our Constitution it does say we are to use Roberts Rules of Order. But the Pres is telling me she does not have to bring it to the parents to vote on it. I asked her for that in the begining. I didnt start with the petition. I tried talking to her to straighten this out first. But she refused to discuss it her mind was made up. We found out about the whole thing when a past officer came into the school three days before school was out to get the wooden games they were going to throw them out. I was with the current Pres. The new Pres doesnt even take over till July 28th she is just doing what she wants already. Who knows what else they threw out. What they consider JUNK
