We had our first book swap this year and it went over very well. We had each child bring in a book from home the day of the swap and their teachers did mark off their names so we knew who had brought them in. But we also had went to our local Goodwill store and picked up a few extras. And people donated extras for little brothers and sisters. Needless to say, we had plently of books and it was great for the kids!!!
The evening of the swap, we did arrange them by age group. Just to make it simpler when "swaping". Hope it goes well!!!!
There was post on this just a few months ago. Do a "Search Message Boards" for Book Swap to see the whole thing.
We've had two so far this year and will do another in May. The kids and adults could bring the books up to a week before the event or that evening. We had class rosters where the teachers marked how many books each child brought in before the event. We tied them in with a reading night and a game night so there was more going on than just the book exchange.
We would like to have a book swap during right to read week. This is a new event for us and we are not sure the best way to do it. Any ideas or hints would be great!!! Thanks!!!!!
