MMMMax Headrum..Headrum. I thought he was neat but not worthy of the show he had. LOL!!
You didn't even think about touching my brother's comb. Now his hair is rather thin. LOL!! In middle school we carried picks. The plastic ones with the short handles. They came in all kinds of neat colors. Handy for teasing those bangs and making the hair just a tad bit bigger.
Everyone had white Nikes with a red swoosh. The cheerleaders even wore them as part of their uniforms. I had forgotten about Guess jeans. I loved mine. We always had our combs handy in our back pockets. Remember Max Headroom?
I remember getting my first pair of Guess jeans in 9th grade. Of course, I had to work to pay for them. But, I was so proud of them. And I had a pair with different color patches all over them. I loved those too. Had some of those two-toned jeans too.
My brother is a few years older than me and he always wore the jersey concert t-shirts and Levi's with his brown leather Levi shoes!!!! Now that I think about it, those were really ugly! ha ha
Oh and remember when MTV was actually a video channel???? I would watch it for hours.
I had a sailor dress and a sailor jumper thing. Both had red ties.
I had to have me some Saddle Shoes in Kindergarten, they were the thing. Then in middle school is was Eastlands and "granny boots."
My sister had to have Braxton and Jordache jeans (and everythng else Jorache had). Imagine my suprise when I found them at Walmart a couple of years back. They fit me too (I am short and hard to fit). Gloria Vanderbelt was a favorite of my sisters too. Of course she had to have a job of her own to pay for all that. Ha Ha.

Thanks for filling me in on the Flashdance move. Completely clueless...that's me!
I just thought of another fashion trend that was popular in the early 80's...sailor clothes. I had a navy blue (of course) and white striped top with the big white collar thingy in the back and had the tie in front to square knot.
Then there were the shirts that buttoned up the side and across the collarbone to the neck and had ruffles around the throat.
Don't forget Prairie skirts. Pin-striped jeans. Jeans with stripes on the back and solid in the front (or vice versa). Penny loafers.
Definately no sequels. They are ruining enough good movies now days. Dong is nurse on ER. HA HA!
My mother didn't know I watched Flashdance. I wasn't allowed to rent but very few movies. Now I am the dictator of the tv watching. On Flashdance she could take off a certian undergarment while still keeping her shirt on. I thought that was just too cool!! Now there is the Flashdance contraversy. I forget her name but the actress didn't perform all those dances she had a double. Took them long enough to catch on to that.
When I was in 2nd grade I got a "Bedtime Monchichi." It was so cute.
