*Pie baking contest
*some sort of entries from the kids (baked good, growing a flower/plant, piece of artwork, etc.) and giving all of them blue ribbons
*some sort of eating contest
*pig races (pink balloons and small brooms)
Along with games like duck pond, wheel of prizes, etc. (some of our old stand bys!)
I'd love to have a petting zoo come to the school, but we're not allowed to do that. I am also wanting to have lots of hay bales.
If you can think of anything else...please let me know!
SchoolCarnivals.com has some good ideas--I'm hoping to go with the County Fair theme, too, for next year. I'm 4-H Livestock Club leader, so my ideas often cross over between my groups. Either that, or I really can't keep my thoughts organized and separate...let's go with the "cross-over" explanation.
Several years ago our spring carnival had a farm theme. I remember someone who raised sheep brought in a couple of lambs and there was an area with a big pile of straw where kids could jump in and hunt for little prizes that were hidden in the straw.
