I'm very new to this forum and also a new parent of a kindergartener. My child goes to a very small (87 kids) public Montessori Charter school. I went to our 'volunteer/fundraiser' group meeting last week and was surprised to see the lack of parent interest.
During our meeting we discussed writing a letter to the teachers to let them know we are here for them. That our fundraising efforts is to help them obtain the tools necessary for their classrooms, playground, after school activities, etc. We also want to let them know that each classroom has a parent for them to keep in contact with. Each parent has agreed to make it a point to meet all the other parents of the children in their assigned classes.
So my question is, how to start and write this letter to the teachers. Second question, how to meet all the parents of the children in the assigned classes and ask then how they feel they can contribute to a successful school year.
Thanks for your time and any insightful information.
