Uhh SO? - Not a very good way to describe a person then claim their a 'me' person, then attack personally' I've tried many years to get on a board and wasnt and have been sucessful too. Not sure what this info has to do with this situation.

She never called in and advised anyone she wouldn't be coming in and when confronted, she demanded an apology for being "picked-on". She didn't show to help set-up the Fair, then said "what's the big idea, it's easy anyway". She has never run or set-broke-down a Fair. We were the only two available, I did it myself. She does absolutley nothing, no flyers, planning, generating donation, NOTHING...

Is she the VP over these events or over a chairman, did she just not show for a scheduled volunteer (ie board memebers also volunteer) time??

Boxtops not sure how the online history works, but we've always had Boxtops chair/VP, etc take them home or count as committee.

You need board and job descriptions (dont have to be in bylaws- can be a separate like volunteer conduct policies; bylaws amended by ALL members (you, the principal and board cannot just kick her out -sorry for lack of a better term) with removal clause

Good luck.. take a deep breathe... I'm sure others will post some useful info too. Relax... take a deep breathe (hey, its working for me). ;)

Do you have bylaws? If so does it state if she is not doing such and such going to meetings or not as the case would be, not attending events, helping out etc. that you can remove her. Is there term limits that she wouldnt be able to run again?

Is there someone else you might be able to run against her that would be interested? I would start looking now to see if you can find a more willing parent who will help out.

As for the Box Tops you might need to look into that further and see if in the past if box tops were sent into school and whats going on. I know our coordiantor takes them home but then she advises me of how many were sent in and the check comes to the school.
Have you mentioned these issues to your other board member about your concerns?

We are about to hold elections and will finally have SOLID EXECUTIVE BOARD, with the exception of the current VP. She has attempted for years to become part of the PTO (as I have heard from the Principal and almost all Teachers/Staff and the One last remaining past PTO Officer), but managed, through default to be voted in last Fall. She does not participate in any of the events, the coordination or follow through. She is a "me" person and takes everything personally and turns EVERY situation into an issue. She has failed to show for several important dates; to work for the Fall Book Fair, she never showed and the Fair had to close and lose money.

This week, I checked on-line regarding our school Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Labels, as SHE is the "Coordinator". The school has not been paid money since 1996!, in the amount of $226.00. She wasn't even in the system at that point! The next day, I noticed that she had taken ALL of the labels and Box Tops home! I called her and asked why. She said to count them. I advised her very politely, with witneses, that those were school property and in essence money and they needed to be retured to the school immediatly. She informed me that she has been doing this for years and will not return them. I informed her of the information I had obtained on-line and she indicated that "she didn't FEEl like there were enough to send in last year". WHAT!!! Now they have expired and are useless... I advised that as the PTO President I was making a formal request that they be retured and she would no longer be the Coordinator. She refused, got very personal, indicating that I have had a problem with her baby, her children and her since the fall Book Fair and that I don't even acknowledge her. I told her this was not a personal issue, but a school issue and there seems to be a problem. She said "the only one with a problem here is you" and hung up. She still has not returned the labels. WHAT DO WE DO? We being the Principal and the current Treasurer. It is not personal, but she is not professional and our school is begining to suffer from her attitute. How do we remove her from the Board, it's not in our By-Laws, which are out-dated, and how do I get the lables back? Call the police? HELP PLEASE. Abby
