HELP - PTO VP Needs To GO

Shamrock, sure sounds like the way to go from here on out is for parents to turn in their box tops to a jar on the secretary to the principals desk , end of stories.

Sounds like your principal should forget the phone converstations, and have a face to face with the person in question. Hopefully you have great leadership at your school with great people management skills.

I ditto Silver. Many on these boards are more than happy to help with PTO issues, ideas, etc. but please keep the personal stories out. Frustration is understandable and happens, it's a part of life but, I haven't seen a topic yet that hasn't turned to and outright public argument when personal info is posted.

Just please step lightly...

Shamrock & Abby - I am concerned and have to caution you here. I understand your need to vent; however, please be aware that speaking so openly about this person in such a negitive tone lowers you to their level. Remember - this is a public forum and anyone can read your comments. This includes your PTers who could decide you are not being professional and thus have you removed based on actions unbecoming of an officer if needed.

I agree with RobinD, it sounds like there is a lot more than just boxtops going on here. Why waste any more energy on a situation that is beyond your control. Let this go, find a new box tops coordinator and move on!

OMG... I would say she's got issues.... and they have little to do with your boxtops.. LOL :) . My guess is that if she is that defensive about the BoxTops, it's likely they are gone!.. I bet she sold them.. or lost them.

holy cow. what's the principal going to do now??

ROBBIN D - THIS ONE'S FOR YOU! Thanks to all for your welll needed advice and suggestions, at this point, she has not been nominated for the 07-08 school year and all of the positions have neeb accounted for, not voted upon. Unfortunetly, reagarding the box tops issues, although she felt there wasn't enough to send in last year, by her making that decision and NOT informing ANYONE, including the previous PTO or Pricipal, she then made those box tops worthless, as they expire. Our feeling is that, the labels and box tops are school property, in essence, cash and/or equipment for the school. And that two people should be counting the lables/tops together as a checks and balance system. Unfortunately, so keep her pasified she was given this project 2-3 years ago, in order to avoid her preasence on the PTO. Our ByLaws, which have not been ammended since 2002, DO NOT define anything regarding the Coordinator of these projects, box tops, campbells. If parents were to find out that they have been sending these in faithfully for 2-3 years and the school has not benefited, do we direct them to her, the "Coordinator"?

I called her yesterday, witht he Pricipal on the line, (whom she also have "personal issues with" personal meaning she turns them into personal, and again asked if she would be bringing the labels/tops to the executive meeing? She said she would not, why would she, blah, blah, blah,. I as usual told her the school has not benefited she is not following the proceedure and that they are school property (and that I had already spoken with the Principal and she agrees) that they need to come back. She then started screaming, went personal ........
