We are beginning to strategize for next year. We are going to evaluate what we did this year and what we want to do going forward. Some of our fundraisers are getting worn out (for example our Holiday Housewalk...we make lots of $$$ but it is getting harder and harder to get houses). Because we are a Catholic school, we also have to coordinate our events with the Parish schedule.
Not to sound silly, but I was curious what is a Holiday Housewalk?
We have our BacktoSchool BBQ (Aug), First Day activities (Sept), Scholastic Book Fair (Oct) and I beleive Masterpiece Fundraiser (Fall)already in place for next year but nothing else has been discussed.

Shawn, since you are new to the game, if are planning on a fall fundraiser and don't have one scheduled, you should get hopping. Right now you can still get dates you want and most companies offer sign on bonuses before June 1. And those can really benefit your school.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
Guess we better get going or we'll lag behind. I know we have a couple of events for start of school set in stone. But I'm new to this (non- military planning).
Thanks for all the replies, liked the ideas and suggestion. If I wasnt married ( or my wife didn't mind) I'd plant a big kiss on all of ya (you dad's getta hug and a "huhgh, yeah how 'bout that Bears game !!"

We just recently sent out letters to parents looking for officers for next year. At the May meeting we vote in the new slate for September officers and in June we vote in the new budget and also disperse all of the excess surplus to the school in the form of grants, computers, gym equipments...basically everything they ask for.
We have our schedule basically set for next year already, alot of our dates are "district" dates since we do fun nights on conference nights , and open house night, THose three dates are set by higher up. We try to correspond a monthly fun night with either a district date or fundraiser pick up night. Then other events are always done on say the last Wednesday in April is our grandparent luncheon, the second friday in january is staff/parent volleyball. First week in May is staff appreciation, truth is we don't pick alot of our dates...ha ha ha. Fundraisers we pick one in early september, November in time for holidays and then a spring one. I can't imagine going into the fall without it, as far as budget we set one this year for next year and usually after our first fundraiser and bookfair we may have to tweak it a little. Depends....hope this helps
