We already have our events decided and scheduled. This is usually done the first of April at the latest. If I have time, we will have a prebudget meeting for next year to review what we spent and what epenses are planned/requested for next year. This give us our goal for fundraising before we go back to school and puts the past year into prospective.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
We've already begun planning for next year. We'll also have a meeting in July and August because our first event happens the week before the first day of school.
We have already started talking about next year also. We are planninng on having a meeting/get together this summer to iron some things out so we are ready for next year. I think to hit the ground running is the best way to show people that you are organized and want to get things done.
I'm going to run in June for my board and there is already talk about a summer meeting. One mom already said we could have the meeting at her house and make a day of it by her pool..
NOW, NOW, NOW! We've already put together a rough calendar of what we plan on doing... first week in May, I'll go over it with other PTO leaders from the local schools so we can make sure none of our big events conflict. At the final meeting of the year, we'll present it to our general membership.

Never too soon to plan. At least start organizing idea a little. Our fiscal year ends in July. That is when the next board takes over if there are any new ones. I am all for summer planning. We had one last year of the executive board at the school play ground. That way the kids played while we got things figured out. I think it went very well. It also gives you a chance to get the feel of things for the upcoming year and answer questions a new person maybe having.
