We have a Volunteer Sign Up Form that we have used the past 4 years...we revise every year with new event dates, new needs, etc.
It has worked very well. We also use it to obtain email addresses to increase the number of families on our parent's email group.
I have the file in it's original MS Works format and a revised MS Word format that may not load correctly but will still help you get the gist.
One good rule of thumb is to list any event coordinators or program chairs on your volunteer sheet. Parents are more likely to sign up to help for events/programs if they know someone is leading the way.
We also list those programs that may need coordinators. No matter how small. We have parent's in charge of the bulletin board, Foster Farms, etc. Sometimes a parent needs a small program to get them involved and it usually leads to greater things!
I would also love any forms that you have. Always looking for ways to improve the current way of doing things!
