I would be interested in a copy of your volunteer forms. Thank you very much. Please email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Here's how our school works: at the beginning of they year when we are doing pto sign ups we give each person a form to fill out and what they would be interested in helping in: volunteers, teacher appreciation, fundraising, market day...what not. Those people that check the volunteer slot get called by the volunteer coordinator and form a committee. They all help recruiting volunteers so it does not fall on 1 person. For our carnival in spring we actually assign a game to a classroom and the head room parent has to recruit parents from that class to cover the game assigned. IT works great and helps cut down on how much the committee has to do.
WE tried something new this year in the way we signed up classrooom volunteers. Previously we had sign up sheets at registration for parents to put down when they could help, then we made copies for the teachers and they had to call people and schedule them. This year we gave the teachers a form to fill out that asked them to list what they needed done and what times and days they needed help. They turned this in and we made copies for them to send home to the parents. Any parents who could fulfill the teacher's needs simply sent an RSVP back. It reduced the work for the volunteer coordinators and the teachers and really helped to make sure the teachers were getting the kind of help they needed on the days they needed it.
