In addition to step by step checklists for events,
I would like a calendar planner (month at a glance type) that includes the special school days/programs such as red ribbon week earth week, Dr Suess Day, read-across-america, flag day, groundhog day ... etc. Anything on the calendar that we could use to tie into special events or just to help us prepare our schedules for the upcoming year.
I think it would be great to have step-by-step white sheets (process and steps to doing the events, not just flyers or clip art) for things such as donuts with dad, dances, art shows, carnival/fun nights, etc. so we all don't have to figure out how to do them on our own. We could at least use them as a base and adjust them for our specific school/grades.
As Critter said--good PTO clipart would be great. Or posters for more common events, like Donuts with Dads, bingo, etc. We use the PTOToday parent involvement posters--they are so colorful and eyecatching and well designed--others like them would be helpful.
We have been looking for some time now for a real bingo game & electronic board. We would like to run a few bingo nights during the course of the year to bring in some big bucks.
Buying a brand new one is so expensive. We keep looking at Ebay and then end up going to high in price, plus the fact that shipping fees are huge.
The most we could spend to buy one is in the $600 range. Best yet is the hope that we can find an organization that is giving one away....The search continues!
One of the first things we got when I became prez was some decent cash boxes. For years, they had used those small cheap ones that have about 3 bill slots and maybe some change areas. So there's never a good place to put twenties and checkes, and they overfill quickly at a big fundraiser.
We ordered the large ones that are about the size of cash registrar drawer with the appropriate number of bill and change slots. They cost $40-$50 (I think) but are well worth it. Plus, they last forever. These are available (by order) from the big office supply stores (Office Max, Office Depot, Staples).
