We have just been told by our principal that our district superintendant has banned all fundraising incentives. You know, "sell 10 items and come to the pizza party", or "sell 5 items and put your name in the hat to win a prize". We are all stunned - especially when we found out that this decision was made because of TWO parent complaints!! This effects all schools in our rather large district. We are calling a meeting of all PTO and PTA presidents and heads of fundraising to talk about how this will subtract from our current efforts. Anyone else out there dealing with these issues? How much would you say fundraising in your school increases with the use of incentives? Oh, and no more raffling-too much like gambling. So much for that event at our carnival.... I appreciate anyone's thoughts.
