1st meeting and we were "attacked"!

You get thru the garbage by remembering the good that is done. Some parents thrive on acting like bone-heads. When I agreed to become PTA president (and there was some arm-twisting), I knew there would be problems, and I have to admit that the first few months have been true eye-openers. I usually find a way to shut up the whiners by asking them to volunteer. My motto-"don't complain unless you have the solution." I urge you to attend the next meeting, and if the "meanies" show up, ask them why they complain so much.

I have to give you all credit for sticking it out with this PTA stuff..........We had our 1st meeting this week and let me tell you that some parents are just plain vicious!! How do you handle people who get on their soapbox and degrade you and your fellow board members in front of everyone. Our principal finally stepped in but the damage is done. I am sure that everyone believes badly of us. I am sooooo disgusted and its only the beginning! :(
