Great news. The treasurer and secretary both resigned today. They turned in all their information today. :D We will be conducting an audit on it just as soon as we can get all the statements from the bank and find someone to do it for us. Hopefully that will be next week. If there are any discrepencies, we will find them!! We already found a few lies, but they were minor, but it made people realize that they were lying all of last year about everything myself, my husband, and another member had done. I know I will never get an apology, but I don't need one. I'm just eternally grateful that they finally opened their eyes to these women before they could do more damage!! Now we are ready to have a great year and get some things accomplished!!!!! :D ;)

MO2- Since she refuses to turn over the checkbook, and is standing accused of stealing from the account, we felt that we needed to change the account so she couldn't do any more harm. These 2 individuals WERE reelected last year by the same people that NOW realize what they are doing even though several of us tried to tell them. My husband and myself were talking about the banks refusal to cooperate. We had the same idea as you. We will try it Monday and see if it works. If not, then I feel that getting an attorney involved is the only course of action we can take.

One more thought. If the treasurer and/or secretary have been voted out of office and new officers have been voted in... and if these facts are reflected in your PTO minutes...(since the minutes are a legal document)..you can take these records into the bank to help your cause.

I would say your first business in order would be to obtain the PTO checkbook, and the ledgers from the treauserer. Since these are property of the PTO, you could get the police to go to her house to retreive these. Now that the books are in safe hands, they should then be audited right away. If anything shows up missing, this is where the police could get involved and possibly the superintendant of schools. The bank I am sure then would want to accomodate your PTO. I would caution to be professional, stick to the facts and remain unassuming.

Sigh, the saga continues. The bank wouldn't take the principals letter into account. They say that we definetly need 2 signatures. Those would be my husband, who has already agreed to take his name off, the treasuer and then the secretary. They are best friends and we are starting to wonder if they were in this together. They have avoided us all week long. Since they refuse to sign the form, we are at a standstill. We don't know where to go from here. Any ideas????

Lisa... Bravo!

Though it may not seem it sometimes, the good always does come out ahead. I have someone that is no longer a board member but still a parent that doesn't like me and I feel that if I just keep doing my job and keeping one eye over my shoulder at all times, things will work out and she won't cause any trouble. One difference between you and me is that my board is truly wonderful and they know that this woman has done shady things in the past. This is my last year at Bell Top and my Principal has already asked if I have anyone lined up to take my place. It truly makes you feel good to know that if you do good things, people do appreciate it... especially the ones that count.

Take care and kepp your head high! And of course, keep smilin'!
