Along the same lines, our PTA had an increased budget last year and members were a little disgruntled about it. (From 9,000. to 12,500.) When you take the number of children our PTA "cares for" in our school, divide that by the budget total, and the price comes out to a little less than 25.00 a child. I believe that is when guardians understand that a "large" budget isn't really that much.

Every once in a while I get asked...so just what does the PTA do for our school. That got me thinking. In the fall I am going to put out a flyer titled WHAT HAS YOUR PTA DONE FOR YOU... I have listed about 18 things that our PTA has sponsored or purchased in the last 5-10 years. I have from sponsoring RIF-purchasing playground equipment. At the bottom I have if you would like to join please call our membership chairperson with phone #. I also have if you would like to help out and make new freinds please call our volunteer co-ordinator with phone #. I truly don't think most people know the extent of what we do. Hopefully this will enlighten them.
