This is one of the great things about a PTA, if we have questions, hopefully we have others to help us. I apologize, you stated that you were a PTO and I forget that ya'll stand alone. Have you asked the past Treasurer for the books? Do ya'll have a past Vice President or someone from last year's executive committee who could call a meeting so they can collect the books? Last but not least, do you know of a lawyer who could help?
Thanks, never even thought of that one.
Chain of command - Council, region and state? I don't quite know what you mean here. We are a small school in a small town and our Organization stands alone. If you get a minute, can you expain.
Thanks again very much.
Our local unit is going through the same thing. We are going up our "chain of command" (Council, Region, State) to try and get help. We were told if checks are written from the new executive committee, the new president and treasurer assume responsibility for the books "as is". Be Careful!
I am the new PTO president at our school and effectively took office July 1, 2001. The transition was to have taken place by that date. It is August 2nd now and I still after (3 non-returned phone calls) have not been able to get the books from the previous president. She has acknowledged receiving my calls to other people but will not return my calls or hand over the books. Any suggestions?
