That sounds like what we need. And no, our current by-laws do not currently allow for co-officers. We're working on a re-write on that too. We'll have to set the deadline no sooner than 2 weeks out from our first meeting. So we can hold elections.
Thank you for the reply.

As far as wording - just make it simple that you are looking for people interested in filling this position(s) and to let you know by ___ . (Make sure that you set a deadline!) Have a date set to hold a meeting to elect to fill position.
I always love reading your responses. Thank you. Yes I understand exactly what you mean, and will pose the suggestion to our current Co-Presidents. One of which is my Husband (first man to hold office here). He may become VP depending on how our search goes, but only time will tell. He's already made the basic suggestion as you have it laid out here.
Thanks for the reply.

My best recommendation would be to give each Co-President an area of responsibility. For example, one could be Co-President - Director of Communication. Another might be Co-President - Director of Curriculum Enrichment.
Hopefully you get my point.
You can provide a general concept of what that Co-President would be responsible for, but that wouldn't mean that that person has to only get involved in their Director area.
So say if you used Director of Communication, that Co-President could have a write up explaining that they are primarily responsible for comminication between the staff and families of your school. This includes the newsletter, website, and media responsibilities.
Something like that...
By going this route you give each Co-President a focal area, so as not to put too many chiefs all overstepping each other. I believe a focal area, such as Director of Communication, Director of Enrichment, etc., is a great way to deligate overall responsibilities, while divying up the job for the betterment of your group.

No, our By-Laws do not address soliciting for officers in the event of a vacancy. I am looking for ideas on how to word what we put together considering our situation.
