I think you're right on with your idea. We have also used these samples and such as prizes. If it's food, one of the board members always hangs on to it and prepares it to bring to the next PTO meeting.
you betcha---we get those fundraising books and since we don't sell them and I don't want to benefit personally we put them out as door prizes when events are happening...d
We give a small prize to the teacher with the most parents at the PTO meeting each month. We usually give one of these extras along with expo markers and post it notes, something the teacher can use in class.
I wasn't sure exactly where to post this question but here goes...
We receive a lot of "samples" or "extras" from fundraising groups trying to get our business or from our current fundraising group. I feel obviously uncomfortable keeping any of this stuff or giving it to our board members.
This question might be an obvious "duh" moment. We are trying some new things this year with our parents in an attempt to engage their ideas and suggestions. Do you think it appropriate to use these "extras" as raffle incentives or prizes for participation in any of our new ventures to pick their minds?
