Our meetings are in the evenings and our board just meets 30 minutes before the general meeting.
If you are talking executive board members only, then I'd have them at the time when all board members can attend. If you're talking general membership meetings, then present some varied times to the members and see what works for the majority. A few years ago our group tried having both morning and evening meetings. For awhile there were a handful who attended the morning ones, but eventually it dwindled off. I figure you can always try something and if it doesn't work then you go back to what you had before or try something new.
we meet immediately before our general meetings. we tried mornings, and people were always late, had kids, principal would have to deal with issues in school etc.. it was awful.. we went back to nights! all depends on each individual person on your board. if you are all divided.. I suggest alternating days/nights..........
We meet at night (7-9pm) on the third Tuesday of each month. However it was recently suggested that if we started having some morning meetings we may get more attendance. That proposal is being considered for next year.
I will be a new PTO President. The past PTO Board met at 2:45 once a month. This is difficult for working parents, others like the time. What does your school do?
