Replied by pals on topic RE: who make the agenda??
at our first meeting of the year we do introductions, a little history about our group, a get to know each other game. Our general meetings all year are like this:
1-Fun Game
2-Event/fundraising review (review events that have happened in last month)
3-Community Service Update
4-Upcoming events (usually the next month and a half)
5-volunteer needs
6-financial reports
7-School updates
8-Discussion about anything??
9-Bye!

I do the agenda and just have the chairs know that they need to do a update. Hope this helps

We do introductions, committee reports, fund requests, calendar review and open floor. If you standardize an agenda, it will basically run itself unless you are trying to introduce several new ideas. Maybe your group wants to make sure some things get discussed. I felt, with our last president, that I was never allowed to bring up anything unless I had informed her of it ahead of time and there wasn't any open floor back then. It is also possible that they are trying to make sure that you are all on the same page. If you don't want to have agenda planning meetings, let them know and try to establish a standard as well as a way that they feel comfortable telling you if they want something talked about.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Ok, I am confused, I am the new prez, am I supposed to make the agenda? I thought I was and now my board want to meet to set it up. It is our first meeting and I want it to run smooth and short(1hr). I was planning to do it and have them add where they come in, treasure report budget and secretary dues info.
Can someone give me a good agenda idea on what I am supposed to cover? Thank God for this site and all of you.
