hi, Debbie . I think our most sucsessful and low overhead fundraisers is turkey feathers. For two weeks prior to thanksgiving we sell paper turkey feathers to the kids. we just go around room to room once a day ,knock on the door and say gobble ,gobble and we get swamped with kids wanting to buy feathers. You see we put a laminated turkey body outside each teachers door and the teacher in each grade who gets the fatest turkey gets a free thanksgiving turkey provided by the pto. It's a huge competition around our school. When the kids buy feathers they get one piece of candy so all we have to buy is constuction paper and a little candy.we have brilliant treasurer that came up with a really cute poem to send home when it's turkey feather time.
Hi butterbean, I would be interested in hearing about some of the fundraisers you've had.
Our PTA sponsors a Fall Arts and Crafts Show. We include a raffle, kid's Make It and Take It area, and have concessions also. This past fall we tried Children's Antique Photography in conjunction with the show. All was very successful, we cleared over $2000.
Everything else we do is pretty much commercial, but I, for one, would like to move farther away from them. So, any other ideas are appreciated. Thank you.
we have several non-commercial fundraisers that we do every year that go over pretty well for a school of our size and i'd like to hear from anyone else who has a sucsessful but out of the ordinary fundraiser.
