TORMENTING OUR STAFF AND PRINCIPAL? Are we out of line?

I always say if I can't talk to them how do I really know what the problem in our how to solve it.

That is a good one to combat the faceless, nameless "Some People" attack. Tell the principal that you would like offer up the oppurtunity to meet with the "People" who have problems. So that you can reslove this matter once and for all.

You have to find ways to outsmart them and put the ball back in their court. Put them back on the defensive and beat them at their own game.

Geez all this over wanting to build a playground! It is so silly and what a waste of everyones time and energy!

I've had this problem with our principal and I bring her the minutes from the meetings we had. I also keep every email she sends me because this became such a big problem. As far a distributing fliers, we do two reminders for our fundraiser and I copy and count them out and put them in the teachers' mailboxes because that is my job. We give teachers a box to collect the fundraisers in and on collection day, I go to every room to get them so money isn't left in the mailroom. When our principal did get totally out of hand I did have to go to someone in our district's administration, but I'll warn you, you might win on that one point but she hold it against you after that. As far as parents complaining, I always say if I can't talk to them how do I really know what the problem in our who to solve it. Hope this helps.

One more thing:

Newsletters: if they contain information previously approved by the principal, do you need to get them approved before handing them out?

I have to preface these questions with letting you know I was once a teacher, and I know how overworked and overwhelmed they can be. I try to be sensitive to this, but honestly feel this is NOT the case in my child's school. We are an incorporated group which uses part of the school name, but are a separate entity.

We've been getting some flak about flyers and fundraisers from our principal (all of which were approved by our principal). I'm curious to see if we really are completely out of line.

-Are we really asking too much of our teachers to hand out flyers and collect order forms to hand in to our mail bin? This is NOT a daily, or even WEEKLY occurence.

-Is it unreasonable to ask our principal to have a "reminder flyer" distributed?

-The principal takes us to task because "a parent" has come to them with "concerns." Are we unreasonable in asking who a complainant is if they have a problem with a particular fundraiser, or are questioning the principal how we spend our funds?

-should a principal take action to rectify the teachers' lack of enthusiasm or support for a PTO/PTA ? What if the reason is just laziness brought on by tenure and a lazy administration?

-what should you do when you have a meeting with the principal about your activities for the coming year, get approval for said activites and approval for the flyers and scheduling, only to find after you start your activities that the principal and vice are now saying they NEVER agreed to what and how you are doing what your doing?

Can you tell there's a problem here?
