I am in charge of our school auctiona and would love to get your list of donors that everyone is talking about. Example: Gap and American Girl Doll. I am new to this site and am not sure exactly what all you had on it. Thanks so much. My email is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Julie, Dottie posted her huge list of people and companies she sent donation letters to, it's uner "Special PTO events" and under the subheading "maybe we should start our own list of donations". There are also companies that other people have used. Check there and you'll find everything your looking for.
Hi all,
I have been our PTO's president/treasurer/co-chairperson for the last 5 years. There is one other member- a teacher who is our secretary/co-chair. We have a TERRIBLE time getting our local town and townspeople to donate anything. We only ask twice a year and never for more than a $20 value. We get absolutely no support from teachers, but we get many requests from them. We are lucky if we earn 500.00 a year. Our fund raisers are usually supported monetarily by myself and my co-chair. (No, we cannot afford it). We don't ask for more than a dollar for 4 chances at raffles, we raise our Santa Shop only .25 more than the company charges. Our biggest money maker is usually the circus or Santa Shop, with profits averaging about 150.00 for S. S. and 500.00 for Circus. Our biggest money maker with the least amount out of our pockets is the Our Kids Art program. Our problem is we are always fighting for donations with the prom committee and the seniors and every other committee the school has. We are a small school, 475 k-12 students, in a small, rural, economically depressed area. Here is my big question: WHERE CAN I FIND THIS AUCTION/DONATION LIST THAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT? We would much rather not bother our tiny town for donations if we can find another way. We receive no funds from the school or district. I will give my email address but I don't know if I will be able to answer everyone if I receive a large number of answers to my question. This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you. This forum has been a big help. Thanks a million.
