Creative Auction Items

My silent auction chair just got us a GREAT item! We will be auctioning off a private cheerleading camp lead by the local varsity cheerleaders. The camp will be 4hours long for 10 elemntary age girls. Each girl will get pizza dinner, pompoms, and a t-shirt! We will split the profit for this item with the cheerleaders.

Im really excited about this... and Im sure my daughter will be begging me to bid, bid, bid!
We're working on a basketball version, as well.

marypoppins,

I need your help, too. Our event is one month and we have to do some quick work. Any help you can provide as far as ideas re baskets and how exactly you saved that parking spot (parking is a huge issue for us!) would be appreciated. Thank you.

The kiddie auction thing is something I've been working on too. We are having our 1st ever auction in July and have gotten some great donations from corporations. I read somewhere else on here about a site called Freaky Freddies Freebies and they have a kid section. I've been working on getting some little things to put out on a table to let them bid on with their own money. Our PTO only goes through 5th grade. Anyways, my main thought on this is, our auction is going to be during our townwide 4th of July festivities and I thought that would be a great way to keep the kids from getting bored if the parents were waiting for the auctions to close. I thought if the kids were waiting on their own stuff, they might not be as quick to pressure mom & dad to go.

GeorgiaDebbie,
What an interesting idea! A section for kids to bid on items would probably be a big hit at our function. I'm going to pass this concept onto our auction chair right now!

Has anyone done a kiddie section as part of their silent auction? What type of items did you use? How did you make it "user friendly" for the kids.
