I have run our Scrip program for the last 3 years. Weare a small school of about 300 students. About 90 families participate in our program - this is about the average for the last 3 years also. I use GLSC and have had GREAT results! They are very easy to deal with and you can actually talk to a person if you have questions. I just started using NE scrip co also this year. They are good and easy to deal with. They are smaller than GLSC and did have some problems the week before Christmas filling my order. I think that as they get a little bigger and used to the holiday rush they should be better by next holiday season.
We only take cash or check - we looked into taking credit cards but since they take a % of our sales we ruled that out.
I also have my order form on an Excel spreadsheet. I try to send it home every-other-week in the kids folders and we also post it on our web site (
www.penryn.org
) so that parents and friends can get to it. I am at our school on Tue mornings and Fri Afternoons for in-person sales. Otherwise the orders are sent into the front office and I pick them up and fill them throughout the week.
Check with your local grocery stores. Ours gives us a 5% discount if we purchase at least $1000 at a time. Kohl's also has a similar program. Kohl's will mail the cards directly to you but the grocery stores require you to pick it up at the store and pay for it then so this could get time consuming.
