Sean,

I took over doing our scrip program last year. So far it is going well and I enjoy doing it. We are a public school of around 500 with staff. We have maybe 50 people who participate, that really bums me out, but I keep trying to market.

We use GLSC, that is the only company we have used, but I can only say good things about them. We have never had any problems.

We take orders weekly, they are to be turned in by Friday, I process them over the weekend, I usually get my order by Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week and send it home. We only accept checks.

At the beginning of the year, I send a home packet with an order form, enrollment form and an explaination of how the program works. Last year I sent everything home in a 10x13 envelope, this I year I sent just the paperwork and when I got the enrollment form back I sent the envelope home (I did this as an effort to save money on the envelopes and labels (I use Avery 2x4 labels to put the students name, family name, teacher and grade level, the school and scrip envelope). I also only put the name of the highest grade level student a family has in the school.

If you look on GLSC website, they have promotional tools that you can download and print (you may have to be a customer first to get to those things).

My husband helped me put our order form into an excel spreadsheet, double column double sided paper. If someone wants me to I can e-mail it to them, but we haven't tried posting it on-line.

Depending on where you are located you may want to check with you local grocery chain to see what they offer. We have Kroger here which does a community rewards program, with reloadable gift cards, when our acct reaches $5000 we get a 4% rebate check. Also, check into Kohl's, they have a fundraising gift card program as well. I offer both of these on my scrip order form (even though I don't order them from GLSC, I give my families the option of getting them that way.

If you have more questions or would like to see any of my forms give me your e-mail address and I will be happy to send them to you.

Good Luck.
Robin

Hi Suzi --

Here's a link to a similar thread:

www.ptotoday.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=001475

... and what i wrote in that thread:

Update on Schoolpop.

Spent some time with the latest financial filings this morning. I'd be very, very leery of fronting any dollars to this firm for scrip. If you're preparing for a big back-to-school rush, you're highly advised to make sure you're not counting on (and certainly not solely counting on) Schoolpop.

Takes a bit of reading here, but here's the link to the most recent SEC information:

www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1013690/...0/loyaltypoint8k.htm

In last month: the CEO, the CFO and two directors have resigned. Here's the most relevant text:

"At the current time, the Company is exploring certain strategic alternatives, including the following:

The sale of all or substantially all of its assets. Even if a sale is consummated, it is unlikely that there will be any distributions to stockholders."

I'd be very surprised to see this company in business at the end of 2005.
