I wanted to mention that our Food Lion grocery store donated and served the food at our Picnic on the Green, and allowed PTO to charge a fee and collect the money. We had $400 hotdogs, and we sold them all. We made about $400. Last year, we made $50, maybe. Our school owns a snowcone machine and a popcorn machine, which is sometimes used at events. For teacher appreciation week last year, we collected all sorts of gift certificates and gifts from area businesses to give away in drawings. We had enough so that everyone got something.
