Do you have a ball park close that would work with you on an idea, my thought is my husband is often offered season tickets not beingused but the corporate guys. We get to sit in the box seats and enjoy the baseball game in ait condtioning! Anyway, tickets, dinner, and a couple fun souviners of the day.
My sugar and caffiene rush is wearing off hope this gets the wheel turning!
MAN that coffee was hot and STRONG! I did find out the same info that Bertha did. The church buys the truck (great deal on it) but the tickets they sell are $20-25 apiece. It a good fundraiser for them as long as they can recoupe the cost of the truck.
Last weekend as announcements were read, the music director joked, if you have an extra ticket you can but my name on it! Father says "Yeah it's spelled F-a-t-h-e-r T-o-m"!
What ideas, besides a car, would you suggest for a raffle? I want it to be something everyone would be willing to try for, but something I can get donated. For the kids raffle, I'm thinking XBox, PlayStation, etc. I know we can get that donated and that every kid will want to take a shot at it. What do you think would do that for adults?
I checked with my sister-in-law, she works at dealership, she said they sell you the car at cost. It's up to you as to how much you sell the tickets for. I can't see people spending two dollars per ticket especially if we can't get them to participate in other fundraisers!
We had a tuition raffle at our private school for the first time this year and I know we had to get some kind of license with the state first AND the tickets were sold under the guidelines that unless we sold 75 tickets, the raffle would be cancelled and all tickets returned (to guarantee we wouldn't lose money). We ended up selling about 120, I think, at $100 each so we did make money on it. The gal that won had bought SEVEN tickets so she certainly deserved it! You'd have to sell quite a few, I'm assuming, to make it worth your while. Just thoughts..

I have seen similar auctions done at boat shows. One company donates a brand new motor each year, and 200 tickets are sold for $100 each. The company takes only the dealer cost, and all the money raised above that goes to charity. I think if you are in an involved and/or affluent community, it might work. I've seen all 200 tickets go each year, although they start selling them several months ahead of time.
