I'm new to this board and to school fundriasing in general. But, our local school is in deperate need of funds with very few volunteers. So, I'm taking the plunge.

My question is:
Is there a product sales fundraiser available online instead of doing pre-selling with order forms or buying up a bunch of stuff and then selling it?

For example, you decide your school wants to sell x item. So, you advertise x item and that company to your family, friends, community members, etc.. But, instead of taking handwritten order forms, people can just go on-line, place their order and pay via cc, and then put in a code so that the school gets credit for their $. Then the company processes and mails out the order and when the fundraiser is over, they send a check or transfer whatever the school earned into the school's account.

Alot of the fundraising companies out their now give the option to ALSO order online outside of their paper form.

I'm the president of a small parochial school with 64 kids PreK-8th. Last year parents complained that they don't send their children to the school to be a solicitar & we had too many book sales. I agree. So I started calling for more fun- fundraisers such as pancakes & pj breakfast ($289), Dessert Bake-Off ($387), Popcorn Fridays, Advent dinner, Coin Wars ($380) , Buy A $1 Star to place on the wall, etc. This yr. we're going to host a Wii Tournament and Old Fashioned Days with a pig roast. Our book sales include Little Ceasar's Pizza kits (approx. $1,900), Butter Braid Dessert Pastry ($1,800) and 3rd Annual Golf Outing (last yr. $3,400). We also do the little ones like BTFE, My Coke Rewards, Nestle Go Play, TerraCycle for cookie wrappers/drink pouches, InkJet Recycling & new this year, Abitibi Paper Recycling.

It's called "Change Wars" what they do is put a jug in each classroom. 10 mins before the school bell rings and another 10 mins. during the middle of school, kids put change in the jug. The object for the classroom is to get as many pennies as possible. You can take nickles, dimes, and quarters and put then other teachers jars.....any silver coin is a zap and counts against your pennies collected. The kids have a huge blast doing it. We made about 1000 bucks last year. It's not a HUGE fundraiser but it's something very simple to do and you don't have to spend much time or volunteers on it.

This sounds like a blast and I can't wait to get this going at our school!

I'm PTF President at a private, Christian school in Oklahoma. Fundraising is an essential part of the operating budget of the school. We try very hard to focus on the big stuff so that our parents don't feel like we're requesting money continually throughout the school year.

Last year, our two major fundraisers were the annual golf tournament ($27,000 profit) and annual auction ($190,000 profit). We only had one minor fundraiser last year which was the Sally Foster Giftwrap/Cookie Dough sales ($17,000 profit). We will also be selling geraniums in the spring, which we buy at wholesale from a local greenhouse.

We also do Box Tops which helps us add around $2500 a year to the budget.

And an easy fundraiser is to partner with a popular restaurant that will donate proceeds one day a month to the school. We use a popular, locally-owned hamburger place with several locations that donates 10 - 20 % of proceeds to our school on on the first Thursday of each month. Last month, we were sent a check for $250 for our September totals. People are going to eat out, so this is an easy money maker for the school.

I hope these ideas help!
