Fall Festival Game Ideas

11 years 2 months ago #164386 by TXCarnivalMom
Hello -- I would love to share some new and fun Fall Carnival /Fall Festival Game ideas.

Spider's Web Game - Use a giant spiders web and have kids toss toy bugs through the web into buckets on the other side to win prizes. See it here at: www.carnivalsavers.com/spidersweb.html

Apple Challenge - Kind of like Tic TacToe but with pails and apples -- kids try to get three in a row. A photo and directions are here - www.carnivalsavers.com/apple-challenge.html

Pop goes the Pumpkin - Like a balloon dart game but a large board with orange balloons in the shape of a pumpkin. Kids are given tacks to pop the balloons for a prize. See the directions here -http://www.marthastewart.com/269871/halloween-games-pop-goes-the-pumpkin

Halloween game Witches Brew - Line up 6 black cauldrons and children are given 6 toy frogs to toss into the cauldrons in order. If they get all six frogs in the witches brew they win! See the game and directions here - www.carnivalsavers.com/halloween_game_witches.html

Happy Fall Carnival Planning!

We had a great carnival this year. This is the first time we have held it on a school night. This really did not seem to affect our attendance. A local band came and played and really added a lot to the carnival.

As it was from 5:30 to 8:00 pm a lot of the carnival was set up in the gym. This year a parent made dividers to separate the games. This made it a lot more organized and helped the control of traffic. They are made from PVC pipe and cloth so they can be taken apart and stored compactly.

We had games for all ages and all ages played: a cake walk, hay ride, pumpkin patch (kids decorated paper plates to look like pumpkins or scarecrows), face painting, farmer’s fortune (players dig in a barrel of corn for coins, this is very messy so put it where clean-up is easy), pie eating races (whipped cream on paper plates), sack races, hula hoop contest, fishing booth (gave out individually wrapped snacks which cuts down on the amount of candy “won” and can be sent to school as snacks), dart the balloon (put a piece of candy in each balloon and a prize ticket in a few then they get what they “pop”), face painting, blow up slide, concessions booth, door prize booth, basketball toss, ring toss (with 2L bottles as posts and prizes), tic-tac-toe game, and duck pond.

Also our community Crime Watchers came out and set up a booth and gave out internet safety information and goodies.

Hello, my name is Shea Simmons and I am the President of Shacklette Elementary PTA.. The games we are having is: The Sucker Tree (1 Ticket), Cake Walk (3 Tickets), Ring Toss (2 Tickets), Prison Cell (4 Tickets) Planko (2 Tickets), Cornhole (3 Tickets) Duck Pond (1 Ticket).

My husband is building the Prison Cell and the Cornhole game boards with Lowes donating all the materials to build. Just take a list of the supplies need and they will gladly donate them! Lowes is awesome! For the ring toss game, just get 16 two liter bottles and use the carnival rings for them. It is a cheep and easy way to create this game. The Prison Cell is where you can pay so many tickets to put someone in jail, and that person can pay to get out early! Fun, fun, fun! Good luck!

That sounds like a great idea for a Western Carnival. Good Luck!
