My daughters school has a yearbook for K - 5. I am the yearbook advisor. I have changed some of the things and included more of the other classes besides 5th grade. This way it will generate more purchases from the other grades and staff. The 5th grade group are the one's responsible for pictures, layout and articles. I even make them do some homework and research so that they are learning something as well.
For schools worried about the cost of producing a annual yearbook, I'd recommend trying digital yearbooks. They're much cheaper to produce than traditional print yearbooks and the kids love it. There are a few companies out there, the most prominent being
yearbook alive
. It's super easy to use and let's you add photos, videos and music.
Has anyone else used any different digital yearbooks? And if so, what are your impressions?
I am interesting in exploring taking out yearbook from 6th grade only to include the entire school. Could you also send me your long email you previously referred to.
Thanks
Isy

Our elementary school has yearbooks. We are PK -5 but none of our students pay for year books. There is a local printing company here in town and the owner is wonderful about donating printed material to the school. He as let us know that our school will never pay for yearbooks or any pamplets. That is one man who understands that his business is part of a community! We can always go to him for donations.

Hi I am president of our PTA and we have decided to do a elementary yearbook this year. I have never done this before so if you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
