I agree, take the high road. There is always some people who think they know it all and are better than anyone else. Let them put their money where their mouth is. People will see in time all that you did do. And although they (the buggers) will never admit itto it, they will also see how much "behind the scenes" work had been done by you. I had people say that "we are going to do a lot mor FUN things"" we are going to do .... this, we are going to do that.." yeah yeah, yeah. blah, blah, blah. Guess what? I haven't seen anything different and new PLUS the organization has little or no communication with the general members since the newsletters that were started a couple years back have seem to disappeared and the only way you find anything out is if you go to a meeting. We all know that very few people attend the meetings and it is our obligation to get the "news out". It seems they can not keep up with the "behind the scenes" stuff or maybe it is more than they can handle.

Give them the information and let them take it from there. They may choose to not even read it thinking they "know it all", but SMART people learn from others and read over notes to see the organization and flow of an event - DUMB people do not. ;) (sorry could not resist that one)

You will see, in a year and so will everyone else. So Hold your head high, follow the high road, resist the urge to badmouth to anyone... (you all know the grapevines at school). Another thing to do, is kill em with kindness and great big smiles! ;)

Take the high road! (Even though it sometimes stinks!) Give them your notes and tell them that you will be happy to be a "resource person" for them as they plan the events. Sounds like some of our PTO officers, only in it for the ego!

You are all right- the children and their happiness is of utmost importance to me. I would never want to think I did something intentionally that would hurt them. I'm sure that really they probably won't realize what they're missing but I will know.
I did offer a lot of important info at a recent meeting. I wanted to make sure to do it in front of a group of people so no one can claim I was not helpful. I have proof! LOL ( Even emails I have sent I have included blind copies to others just in case) The irony is no one made any concrete notes to help them along- we kept being told "yeah we need to decide on that". I personally would have used this time and the people present to finalize as much as possible- they'll realize their mistakes I guess.
Thanks for letting me vent and steering me back on the right track!!

My first response would be to let them fall on their faces. But on the other hand we do what we can for the children. Give them the info that you have allow them to ask questions, but make them do the leg work.

I agree, give them the information pack and answer any questions happily, and let them figure out the rest. You want the best for your school(a successful carnival) so do what you can to make that happen. If you've been doing this for 4 years, others will recognize your touch on things and will also notice what is different. There is always someone who thinks they know better-let them give it a go. It's the best way to show them how much you really did.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I would hand over what info I had and offer to answer any questions they may have and let it go. If they ask, they ask. Sounds like they won't but, they'll soon figure out things are way more complicated than they thought. Michelle B is right, all we do is for our children. It's hard to see the overall picture when you are being personally attacked. Just wait, I can hear the complaints of everything done wrong this year with the carnival coming your way!! And you can say, I gave them all the info and offered my help and smile really big!!!! :D
