We read the minutes from our previous meeting. We ask out loud any additions or corrections before they are placed on file. We also make copies of the minutes and put about 5 copies in the teacher's lounge the day after a meeting for any teacher who could not come to the meeting.
This is my first year on the PTO and not sure what we are doing this year. We are all new to the board. Does anyone have an outline for minutes? You can email it to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thanks
we used to send the minues home on the backside of the flyer that reminded parents about the upcoming meeting. On the bottom of they flyer was a notation indicating that the minutes from the previous general meeting were on the backside and to please take a few moment to review them. Corrections would be accepted at the posted general meeting,
We also reminded parents at the meeting that the minutes were on the backside of the flyer that went home and extra copies were on the seats tonight - take a moment and review for any changes or corrections. If none, then it was noted thay the minutes would be filed. This procedure went over in a very positive way.

Plw, We do not read them aloud (although we allow about 5 minutes after the meeting starts for everyone to read the copy they received -- and most actually DO read them). Then, yes, we do ask for corrections. And sometimes we get them.
We make several copies of the previous months minutes and just touch on the highlights. They are distributed at the meeting, so that everyone has a chance to read them, but then the secretary just hits the high points.
