Question: Officer Term Length
Our bylaws state this (and only this when it comes to terms) "Officers elected shall assume their official duties following the close of the year’s final meeting and shall serve for a term of 1 year" about officer terms. It appears there are two schools of thought on the interpretation of this. Thought 1: Officers can ONLY hold their office once and that's it. They can run for another officer position but never be the same officer twice. Thought 2: They can run for and be re-elected to any officer position as much as their eligibility allows but they have to seek re-election yearly. I'm in the Thought 2 group as the word "ONLY" is not included in our bylaws. Am I right?
