Question: Role Responsibility of President

This is my 2nd year as PTO President of a small independent day school. Last year, I had a Co-President. The 1st VP and Treasurer are "seasoned veterans" of the school and PTO (8 years & 11 years, respectively). They told me last year upon assuming the Co-President role, that our titles "don't mean anything" and I am not allowed to make any decisions without them, that the PTO Executive Committee collectively makes all decisions. They are upset that this past school year, the Head of School and Board of Trustees President had met with me to discuss various topics and items. Going forward, the Treasurer will be informing the school's new Head of School that she is not to meet with me alone, that she is to meet with the entire PTO Exec. Committee. They are doing this to be "in the know". However, the Board President and new Head of School prefer to meet with me only, as I am the leader of the PTO. The school had serious issues this past year with the PTO 1st VP being the root of the "rumor mill" and this has lead to great mistrust by the Board President and previous Head of School. It is as though I am being bullied by these two and am not sure how to address this in July when we have our PTO Executive meeting. Help!
