They do not reply quickly. Took at least 3 months. We did get an email that we were getting donation. Showed up a few weeks later. It was a $50 voucher toward any trip. In my opinion it wasn't worth the hassle of donating. A BOGO would have been better than $50 off a fare. Maybe in areas where there are shorter hop trips run by Amtrack it would be better. From NC to any major destination the fares were several hundered round trip so $50 was like a coupon not something worth doing a bid sheet on.
I'm in NJ ... we are getting the same storm, but I think you will be getting more snow! That sounds like a great donation. Especially if your event is in the late fall or early winter when people would be thinking about this. I'm thinking landscaping businesses or people who do private plowing for parking lots or people's driveways would be the way to go. Or even a person to shovel someone out is a great idea.
So here I am on Long Island where it's been snowing for hours and we are waiting for the full blizzard to arrive. Thinking that it would be great to offer a complimentary snow plow service as a raffle prize. Have no idea how to obtain this though. Any ideas?
