If you're looking for different donations, depending on your location, check out museums and attractions in neighboring states. We're in Maryland and have received donations from Virginia and PA attractions.
For Marie,
It's hard to say why businesses are turning you down. It depends on what your cause is. It also could depend on the time of year. I find that towards the end of the calendar year, businesses have used up a lot of their donation $$ for the year. Keep forging ahead, and reading through the postings here. It takes time. Let us know more about your cause and where you're located and there's probably suggestions people can provide.
I am organizing a silent auction.. though, many businesses have turned me down and I am losing hope. maybe my approach is all wrong? I dont really know how to go about soliciting donations... ahh, help please!
Hi all just joined. This site is great and I got a lot of good info so I want to share as well.
You can find donations by just typing "zappos donation request" (example)in the search engine.
This will bring up things for zappos and it will also bring up other donation request.
Then it gives you more ideas.
