Although I am not I teacher, I am a parent and have found this site very useful in helping the organization I am involved with which is helping to build a life long ranch community for special needs young adults in Southern California. We hold silent auctions at our fundraisers for the past few years. The posts in this forum have been so helpful. I just wanted to list the YES responses I was able to obtain last year and so far this year.

Our event was just May12 and I had submitted a request for a donation and never heard anything back. Then it came closer and it was time to purchase the raffle items for our event so I thought I would try again for even just a discount on the pieces.
I worked with the person in charge of donations and they ended up giving us 10% off the Ipad 3 and $75 off the Kindle Fire. So it wasn't a complete donation but it was a savings for us on those items we had planned to purchase if we could not get them donated. So if you have that option it would be worth a try.
They do seem to respond better if you call and speak to the specific person or go in and talk with them in person. I have heard more than once if you just mail the paperwork in they don't bother.
