I received a donation today from Premier Cancun Vacations (hadn't expected it because I had applied to Yucatan Holidays). Anyone have experience with them in past auctions? I have been doing some research and it appears that all guests are required to sit through a 2-hour timeshare presentation (read Tripadvisor reviews) . . .
Along the lines of the bigger resorts giving something small...what I don't understand is when I have gotten declines from a hotel stating that they only donate to non-profits in their cities/towns, so they can have a chance of returning business. But to me, if I live in the same city/town as the hotel...why would I return and pay to stay there when I can stay at my own house? I would come more to being a "returning customer" if I lived out of the area?
mattsmom - We have a local photographer. She always gives a gift certificate for a sitting and a 10x13 portrait package. It is about a $150 value for very professional pictures. She told me she can give these away so freely because the largest percentage of the buyers never use the certificate.
I am sure the resorts get requests for mostly rooms. I would definitely try for something smaller.
