I was checking the board this morning and noticed that the last message I could see in this thread was from yesterday afternoon (my post 01-08-2007 12:00 PM). But I know last night that others had added and then I submitted a message about it being quirk in IE 6.x at home. At first I thought it was just IE (as that's my default), but then I checked in Mozilla. No messages past that point.

However, if I utilize the option to view in Print mode (Thread Tools - Show Printable Version), then I can see the rest of the messages. Will be interesting to see if anything changes once I post this.

Also - In IE, aside from the overlapping pieces, I can't get the view modes to work (upper right). But then again, that's the area of the screen that's skewed during login, so maybe it's related.

Any new system has some kinks to work at first. I'm still excited to be exploring.

P.S. Checking back again about 15 minutes later. Now I can see everything up to the 1:08 12:00 pm message, then my two from this morning (this one and "pinned"), but not the others in between unless I go into Print mode.

Everything looks great! I'm still playing around with it and getting the feel, but I really like it. Like JHB, I turned off avatars and signatures.

The only negative I found is that when I first checked my name, I was horrified to discover I was a "senior member," which immediately sent me to my profile where I considered actually adding my age.... Then after I posted once, it changed to "my kids miss me," which actually made me LOL!

I'm having the same problem as CrewChief. The attempt at work with IE 6.x is noted above. But now at home with IE 7.0.5730.11, it's the same issue. I, too, can see the User name box. And I can sort of navigate into the password box (hidden behind the message board), but I can't actually get it to work. But - again - it works great on Mozilla.

One weird thing about logging in. At least on both of my computers, if I'm at the Message Boards Home page the Login box is fully visible. On any other screen, I just see the top half of it. Oddly, I can still tab to the appropriate box, type in my password and hit enter to login. So, the box is "there" and functioning, I just can't see the whole thing.

I had so much trouble trying to get logged in...I was sooooooo confused but I spent the day meeting with out superintendent, and then principal. I think I have it figure out now...and to think we have a meeting tonight. hee hee

We may need to list some Start-Up Tips.

Time Zone - One of the first things I noticed was that all the (current) messages displayed with timestamps about 6 hours from now. Sure enough in the User Profile, one of the options is to set the timezone (CST for me). It would be nice if the default for the Board could be one of the US zones, but we'll still need to tell people how to change it.

:)Editing choices - I was surprised when I posted my first message that there were no enhancement features like "bold" available. But I see in profile there are 3 levels the user can select with plain text being the default and then two others with more features. Frankly, the simpler the better is fine with me, but it will be nice exploring the options.

Thread Display - Also in profile, the user can choose whether or not to show Signatures, Avatars, and Images. Probably doesn't matter now, but will once people catch on. I belong to boards where the "signature" is half a page long with quotations and various comments and then some users try to rival the Las Vegas skyline with their blinkies and animations. To each his own, but I very much appreciate the option to turn that stuff off.
