we live in aspen, colorado. i have 8 boys, 2 sets of triplets(14 and 11) and 1 set of twins(7), all boys. I think in the last 10 years, added up there has only been a month that no one in the family has been in a cast. We always have snow here. Two days ago 2 of my kids broke both legs (left and right) snowboarding. They didn't understand once one gets hurt it might not be the best idea. Both of them will be in casts for about 10-12 weeks. Then Yesterday the 3 oldest decided to take a bobsled off a jump without holding on to the rope. Well that ended shortly it tipped over and they all fell out. We got to see the Emergency room again. The doctor said, "Now what." Two of them broke there arms and will b in long arm casts for about 8-10 weeks. The other one broke his femur(upper leg bone),ankle (left leg). tib/fib(2 bones in lower leg),in the right leg. So he's in a hip spica for 4-5 months.

Maybe today my youngest will be there!

It feels that way sometimes. The bone doc tells me...he'll see me again. I hope not but with 5 boys I'm sure I will.

What! JHB, he turned down a picture of his hand!! I hurt my hand last fall (freak grill accident!) and everyone insisted I have a doc look at it. Felt so stupid and mad.

Fourtunatly I didn't break it and the school's insurance paid for the visit since I was on school grounds!

Hope he is better soon!

Glad to hear that about your little one. I bet it felt like an eternity for him. I can't imagine having that kind of injury now but especially as a kid!

Update on the shoulder.....it's healed & my son can resume normal activity. Boy, is he happy. Although a few days after the accident, he told me he hit a tree. Thank God it wasn't worse. After the warm spell & rain, we're getting our snow back.
