Our lives seem to revolve around work and the kids' activities. In summer, we are very involved in a swimming league. My husband is on the Board, I'm the newsletter editor and we both put in tons of time.
My years in PTO leadership roles were actually great training for Swim Team. Like PTO, it's a 501(c)(3) with membership, t-shirts, fundraisers, newsletter, etc. except we also have employees (the swim coaches) and run an event (swim meet) EVERY Saturday that requires organizing 80 volunteers, lots of pre-work, and arriving at 6:00am.
As far as personal plans, we have a 3 week window between swim season ending and school starting. Maybe we can think of some family plans then!
AHHHH, Summer! What a nice thought. Lounging by the pool, drinking margaritas, reading all day, having someone wait on me. What a vacation in Florida that will be.
Oh no! I just realized I was day dreaming, I LIVE in Florida and don't have any vacation plans as of yet. LOL.
Really, so far my plans are working, yard work, working, house work, a week at Girl Scout camp, work, maybe a couple of long weekends. That's about it. But since I'm a pretty flexible person, hopefully some of the work plans will chang to vacation days!
Besides soccer and softball we are going to Florida in June. A week in Daytona on the beach!!! We might go to Universals for a day. Other than that it is doing little things around the house with the kids and RELAXING!!!
Right now it's baseball, baseball, and oh yeah did I mention baseball?! Finally after that's all over late this summer we'll be heading for Disney World. Nothing quite like Florida in July, but that's when we can get away. Thank goodness for the waterparks!
Anyone got an interesting destination or vacation planned?
Nuthin' here yet, looking for a new house (ours is owned- lease to buy- by wife grandparents)Grandpa had 3rd stroke and must retire (DOD wont let him keep TS clearance, so they're selling house and we have to find a new home (we'll it started out as a lighter topic )
We'll do Disneyland, The LAZoo, and the Aquarium of the Pacific this summer, while house shopping.
