My gosh Lisa, you poor thing! It's just awful to have your kids sick over and over again. We've been really lucky so far this winter, I'm the only one whose gotten the flu. Our big excitement has been my son's attempt to cut off his finger with a pocket knife Thursday evening. I dreaded going to the emergency room not only because I knew it would take FOREVER, but because of all the sick people I knew would be there!
Now I have another kid home with it this week!!!! He had to miss valentine's parties because of it. They better make plenty of the shots next year because I will not go through this again! My kids are miserable!
The flu seems to be making it to my area. I've talked to people in other parts of the state. It is BAD. Both my online class instructors have had it. I am holding my breath. This week we are packing and HOPE to be in the new house next week (FINALLY)!!!
Zoom (the PBS Kids show) did a back pack survey one time. They had kids weighing their back packs for a certian length of time to find out whose back packs were usually heavier, boys or girls. I can't remember the results but I bet some of those numbers would be quite shocking. Most of us stopped carrying back packs by Middle School, but now kids have too.
Backpacks were banned at my daughter's middle school--the halls are too crowded. My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis last year, and she went through physical therapy...it helped out tremendously!!! Keeping up with the daily exercises helps out, too! On the up side, she was able to get two sets of books from school, so she doesn't have to cart all those heavy books back and forth.
