Good luck on the cookie sales. We went through that for a few years. I've always been a big volunteer in my kids' activities, but - surprisingly - my HUSBAND volunteered to be cookie chair two different years. He is meticulous and did a great job!
One thing we did beside the booths and the door to door visits...
We crafted a nice little note from my daughter explaining that she lived in the neighborhood and was selling GS Cookies so please give her a call if interested. We formated them 4 per page, printed several copies, and cut them out.
When we went door to door (in our immediate neighborhood), we left the note if no one was home. We got several calls from those notes.
Well, the kids go back to school on Monday, but I must admit that I've been doing PTO/Brownine cookie stuff plus working FT. PTO: just gathering ideas on different fundraisers, making up a list for a "Parent's Packet", school newsletter, and hoping that some of my suggestions are welcome, for future years.
I'm hoping that our Brownie troop does well with cookie sale, as I'm the Cookie Mom. I've got a lot of ideas and plans in place, just hope that the other parents are helpfull. It's our first time selling cookies, so we'll see.
It's hard to believe this year is over, isn't it? Amazing how quickly it goes.
I'm not as active now as I was a couple years ago, so I don't live and breathe PTO any more. But during the break I did shop for some office supplies to donate to my elementary school teachers. And this week I'm working via email with a committee to draft new bylaws for the Middle School PTO. I know - a horribly boring job, but someone needs to do it.
We have one more day off school - the kids go back Tuesday.
Well, for most of us, it's our last days of vacation, and I am enjoying it completely. The only things I have done the past two weeks that are PTA-related is come here and clip some Cash for Trash stuff. It's been a really nice break.
The sun is shining so bright this morning after a day of warm rain, which melted half of the two feet plus of snow we've had.
Think I'll go get into it.
I send everyone the best of wishes for the happiest new year ever. May we all see positive personal growth, professional contentment, and parent group success.
